Standard 12.1 Explain the fundamental principles and moral values of American democracy as expressed in the U.S. Constitution and other essential documents.
Government and the State
>Government is the institution through which a society makes and enforces its public policies.
>In a dictatorship, one person or a small group may exercise all the powers of government.
>State is a body of people living in a defined territory, often called a nation or country.
>Every state has a sovereign government, or one with absolute power.
> Supreme authority over government rests with the people in a democracy.
A government has 3 branches of power. First one is the legislative, second is the executive, third one is the judicial. Each of these branches have their own powers which they play roll in the U.S Government. Some states also had dictatorship, it is when a person or small amount of people take over the government. The U.S Constitution describes the goals of the United States Federal Government in the Preamble. In the Preamble it mentions the government should have a more perfect union. Without these powers the government wouldn't have control. All these powers add up and form a perfect State.
Question: Can there ever be another branch created in the government?
Quote: Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every
time we fall.
